Great Joy!

Yesterday we had a Christmas party at ACTION's 2nd Mile compound for several street kids from nearby Dasmariñas (I've written about them a few times) and we had a great time. We combined the budgets for our on-going Fish and Bread feeding for the day and our Christmas party so we were able to feed the kids a very hearty lunch, give gifts of food and have a wiener roost in the evening. The kids had lots of fun playing basketball and volleyball, swinging, running in the grass, singing, playing parlor games, listening to the testimonies of Honest Hands boys including a clear gospel message. Even though these kids have a very tough life working to survive they still know how to play because they're still children. A couple of girls from the Mustard Seed program also assisted.

This brought the ACTION team great joy and represents what I've been dreaming for a long time. Kids fresh from the streets being served by former street kids (the boys currently undergoing life-skills training at our Honest Hands home) being ministered to by ACTION missionaries and church workers. The street kids also saw and heard that if they want they can have a better life by following Christ and working hard.

Now we're praying about renting a simple place in Dasmariñas which can be used as a ministry and worship center for our street children ministry. Most, if not all, the kids at yesterday's party have trusted Christ as Savior and want to have regular worship services so we'll be looking into this in January. We estimate rent would around $150 a month and the center would be manned by the churches we're training and mobilizing for street ministry.
