Dear Intercessors,
In light of Osama bin Laden's death and the increased risk of retaliatory acts of terrorism world-wide, I exhort you to pray for your missionaries serving the gospel around the world. Missionaries and Faith-based organizations are potential targets because we're considered "soft" rather than "hard" targets because we don't have high profile, expensive and comprehensive security systems like an embassy, airport or multi-national corporation. Pray for protection, alertness, discernment, situational awareness and God-given courage for those you're concerned for and when the Spirit prompts you. Pray also for an extra measure of faith. These verses come to mind as I'm writing and the Spirit will bring others to you while you're praying:
1 Corintians 15:58; 16:9,13-14 (NIV) (15:58), "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord." (16:9) "a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me." (16:13-14) "Be on your guard; stand firm on your faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love."
