Developing neighborliness & community the old fashioned way

Today we had a good flood relief operation in Baseco a sprawling impoverished community of 50,000 families located along Manila's north harbor. After I gave a short message from John 3:16 and 14:6 and we handed out practical relief items to families involved in our feeding program we walked through the community and visited the area of our feeding program. It was heart-warming that as we walked we were greeted by many people and we greeted several so folks know who we are and why we're there. The Lord is developing neighborliness and a sense of community in Baseco where we now have many friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord. This only comes through old fashioned pastoral visitation and being a good neighbor as we share Christ.
