Multitudes living in the nooks and crannies off the beaten paths of Manila
Today we did a fire relief operation in Brgy Pinyahan, Quezon City where early in the morning November 20 a raging fire burnt out almost 500 families, killed five including four children and left an estimated 2,500 people homeless. Due to limited funds we were able to give aid to only 100 families and they were very grateful. Our operation was hosted by "Jesus is the Way to Life Church" lead by Pastor Nonoy. Pastor Nonoy said to our team, his workers and the recipients in closing the meeting "during the fire we prayed the Lord would send us help" then looking at us "and He sent your team." Jesus is the Way to Life is 16 years old, has planted six churches, has a day care center and has been burnt down four times so they're perseverance and dedication personified. December 15 we'll have a Christmas party, in cooperation with the church, for malnourished kids followed by a Feed My Starving Children six-month feeding program early next year which Pastor Nonoy knows his poor community needs very badly. There are multitudes of people living in the nooks and crannies of Metro Manila which we'd never see unless we get off the beaten paths of the City.
