Bagpipes, wonder of God's grace

Today we attended the Scottish Highland games in Spokane which is very rich in Scottish culture and tradition. Bagpipe music is very inspiring to me so I understand why armies through the centuries had pipers lead their charge in the heat of battle in oder to raise the morale of and stir up courage in their warriors. I'm reading "Principles of War: Thoughts on Strategic Evangelism" by Jim Wilson which uses time tested principles of physical warfare and applies them to truths of spiritual warfare which is daily taking place all around us. To think the follower of Jesus isn't in a spiritual war is ignorant of what the Bible teaches. It is very easy for spiritual warriors to grow weary and lose heart so we need to encourage one another daily as we have opportunity such as pipers did leading their fellow soldiers in a decisive battle striking fear in the hearts of the enemy and raising courage in their comrades.

Monday morning we leave for Manila and arrive there, Lord willing, late Tuesday evening. It has been a good trip to the US and we are looking forward to rejoining our fellow soldiers there. Pray for us please for safe travel and that we arrive to our apartment in good shape. We've traveled back and forth between the US and the Philippines for almost 28 years and it is still difficult to leave family and friends behind but it is still a wonder of God's grace that He chose us to be missionaries.
