The Lord is building His church in the midst of the rubble

Very early last Sunday morning a huge fire struck a squatter community near our Street Impact Team office rendering an estimated 2,500 homeless and killed five including four children. The fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring which is very common. Today Luv, Dave and I visited the area and talked with several people as they were rebuilding their shanties in the charred rubble. We asked if anyone knew of a pastor in the area we could meet and a woman lead us to a pastor's place in a nearby depressed area. As we sat in his simple home we realized we have many ministry friends in common so we'll partner with him in doing a relief giving next Tuesday. He said people lost everything, which we saw, so they need kitchen ware to cook their meals which is what we usually give. He then took us to his little church called Jesus is the Way of Life where little kids where having math class because he has a day care center. As we were leaving he told us he's been burnt out four times but he and his people have built a solid church with the day care center so he's well known in his community. In the midst of the blackened rubble the Lord Jesus is building His church through His faithful servants.
