People are hungry: partnering with AWANA & churches

Wednesday we had a meeting with several pastors and church workers to give them orientation on our Fish and Bread feeding program using food from Feed My Starving Children. All of them are partners of AWANA in their ministry to children. AWANA is partnering with Street Impact Team in order to address the deepening and widening physical hunger of children in far flung provinces such as Sorsogon and Camarines Sur in the typhoon ravaged Bicol region of Luzon. Two guys from Sorsogon traveled 14 hours by bus and another eight hours by bus just to attend our meeting. Others were from provinces 3-4 hours away while some from Metro Manila are working in our huge squatter communities. This simply verifies that churches desire to minister to the poor in word and deed and the hunger surrounding us.
