Pablo pummels southern Mindanao: we cannot turn a blind eye

Typhoon Pablo (Philippine name) Bopha (international name) pummels Mindanao

This week areas of southern Mindanao were pummeled by typhoon Pablo. Her fury, as of yesterday, left 500+ dead, 400+ still missing and 310,000 people homeless. The Street Impact Team (SITeam) is in contact with four churches in Compostela Valley which bore the brunt of Pablo so we're waiting to hear how we can help them. About exactly a year ago typhoon Sendong hammered northern Mindanao and we helped victims in Cagayan De Oro City after we completed our evangelistic Christmas party schedule in the Metro Manila area. SITeam has 31 parties lined up starting next Tuesday so most likely we will not be able to provide assistance to Pablo victims until after Christmas which may be trauma debriefing and giving folks some Christmas cheer. Even though we're a long way from Pablo's devastation we cannot turn a blind eye from the suffering we see!
