Christian Growth Ministries' (formerly Christ for Greater Manila) 50th anniversary celebration August 27 was encouraging, God glorifying and a lot of fun. It was great seeing friends whom we haven't seen for years from our days working directly with CGM from December '85-early '91. We shared many good memories, laughs and a delicious meal while marveling at our God's faithfulness over the years which gives us courage to press on by faith in Him. Doug Nichols, the much loved former director of CGM and ACTION's Founder and International Director Emeritus, gave a stirring message reminding us to not rest on past victories but to press on in winning people to Christ, training them in the Scriptures and developing leaders for ministry. CGM's theme verses over the years and continue to be our rallying cry are 1 Corinthians 15:57-58: "thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord." (NASB) AMEN! It's an honor to be among those who've served with CGM and I to continue to do so as a member of their Board.
