Monday and Tuesday this week the Street Impact Team (SITeam) conducted a workshop for several pastors and workers. We taught the basic principles of networking, the necessity to implement a child protection policy and faith planning by clustered ministries according to location. The days were full and energetic but we need another day to finish so everyone gladly agreed to add another whole day which will be August 3. It is a deep joy to see ministry leaders work together!Yesterday SITeam had another fire relief operation at which we gave practical items to 73 families burned out by a terrible fire two weeks ago. The families lived under a very large bridge on a major thoroughfare and the bridge deck was the roof of their homes. Grace Bible Church, which is located very close to the fire zone, contacted us about possibly assisting them minister to their neighbors and it was a joy to do so. Grace's pastor is a long-time friend who we haven't seen for awhile so it was good to reconnect with him and his church. One of the great values of this mercy ministry is being eye-to-eye with people and out into their communities so for as long as the Lord gives us strength and resources we'll continue this ministry.
