This Tuesday to Thursday SITeam partnered with 10 churches in Bulacan
province to have a camp for 33 out-of-school youth from several towns
there. The camp's theme was "Jesus is Life" with 2 Corinthians 5:17 as
the key verse. We were to have 50 campers and 12 churches but for
various reasons two churches could not participate and 17 kids dropped
out. This is okay, however, because the Lord of the harvest is
providential and He orchestrates His harvesters and the course of the
Gospel. Everyone had a great time learning about Jesus, ate lots of
good food, each camper was given a check-up by a doctor, participated
in life skills development activities and swam. Even though the kids
are abused, from very poor families, are confused about life they have
great potential. Many indicted they trusted Christ and everyone heard
the Gospel clearly explained. Now the churches are following them up
so pray that those who trusted Christ will grow in their new lives in
Him and those who did not will someday. Even though I have
participated in camping for years I do not grow tired of it because of
it's fruitfulness.
Today Pastor Charles Price of the Peoples Church in Toronto taught at
a Christian Growth Ministries-ACTION sponsored conference for pastors.
The conference theme was "Ministering Effectively as People After
God's Own Heart" and Pastor Price taught the Word of God skillfully
with a pastor's heart for pastors. It was a very rich day of learning
and fellowship.
